Couples Red Journal

Journals from the Drawer

C. R. Jules

The collected volumes of C. R. Jules.

A silhouette at the end of a long, warm-lit corridor of doors.

Each volume in the set is one journal. They were not written to be a series. They were written one entry at a time, by a person who wanted to remember exactly how a thing felt before the feeling had a chance to tidy itself up, and they were sorted into volumes afterward, the way you sort anything you never expected to show anyone.

Some entries are a single night. Some are a habit two people built over years. Some are instructions, because a thing learned the slow way ought to be passed on faster than that. Some are tender enough to read aloud. Some should not be read on a train.

You do not have to take them in order. Open the box, pull the volume whose name tugs at you, and start anywhere, as long as you end up somewhere: left yearning, or left curious.

Journaling is writing from my drawer. That is the whole method.

C. R. Jules

The box is not finished. A new journal goes in when it is ready, and not before.
